Tranquil Lane's shipping policy is, wherever possible, to use the delivery service preferred by our customer. Normally this consists of UPS, FedEx, CanPar, or Canada Post. The exact costs/postage is charged to our customer. See HANDLING COSTS below.

HANDLING COSTS

Tranquil Lane adds CAN$ 3.50 per shipment unless otherwise stated. This charge is to offset costs associated with shipping over and above the transportation costs. We endeavour to keep this charge totally reflective of the direct costs involved.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Tranquil Lane accepts payment by VISA, MasterCard, and cheque.

We at Tranquil Lane are aware of the debate regarding using credit card numbers over the internet. We will be establishing a secure site in a few short weeks. Until then we have accepted the premise that there is more to fear from employees of a company misusing your card number than it being intercepted as it travels over the internet.

However, we suggest that you do one of the following:

1. E-mail your credit card number and your order; and then e-mail your name and expiry date separately. We at Tranquil Lane can match the headers to establish all the criteria necessary to fill and bill your order. The chances of intercepting both e-mails is extremely remote. You might consider including a "Password" with the second (or third) e-mail to eliminate further need to forward any billing data. No billing data is kept on the server site!

2. Fax us with the information. You might consider establishing a "Password" that will permit you to order by e-mail thereafter without sending any billing information of any kind other than that "password".

3. Post us with a cheque or credit card information, either with or without a "Password" for future reference.

All prices quoted on this website or from Tranquil Lane are in Canadian dollars. At this writing, the Canadian dollar is trading at approximately US$ 0.65. As an example, if an item you are purchasing costs CAN$ 29.95, it would cost you approximately US$ 19.47 (29.95 x 0.65). The actual cost will be determined by the exchange rate as of the date the Visa or MasterCard debit is submitted to the bank. Cheques should be submitted in Canadian dollars.
